Dr. Bhavesh Patel is an expert in Age Management Medicine which focuses on optimal well-being for Men and Women, an area that is under-discussed but has vast implications for vitality and longevity. Dr. Patel is a Board Certified physician who has been in clinical practice for over 17 years, beginning with Urgent Care, Occupational Health and ER. Noticing the direction that regular medicine was headed in, he quit traditional medicine and did a 2-year stint on Wall Street where he worked as a research analyst covering Biotechnology and Pharma companies at an investment bank. For those years, he attended every major medical conference and interviewed top researchers across the country to understand and form opinions on the latest cutting-edge research in drug development.
However, realizing that the torture of worrying about other people’s money was much more stressful than saving lives in the ER, he decided to return to medicine. But rather than focus on disease and problem-pill-based medicine as he had early in his career, his interests had shifted to optimal wellness and preventative medicine. He founded the Chicago Cenegenics practice 10 years ago and has treated hundreds of members looking for optimal wellness. Optimal wellness and age management rely on an integrated and comprehensive approach to testing and management to achieve excellent health and vigor. Extensive testing and education that addresses nutrition, fitness, nutrient supplementation, hormone management, and medical management — synergistically together as a whole system — are the key levers that need to be pulled to achieve optimal health. The satisfaction of truly improving the daily lives of his members continues to be rewarding.
Dr. Patel is also trained in Functional Medicine, an integrated discipline that considers the body as a whole organism rather than a collection of separate organ systems.
He lives in Chicago with his wife and daughters. He enjoys great music, Chicago sports, nerdy geek stuff, solving problems, tennis, and biking. When the weather is good, he rides an electric skateboard to work. He doesn’t get on Facebook or Twitter too often. Dr. Patel graduated with his medical degree from Rush University in 1999 and completed his residency at UIC/Illinois Masonic in 2002.
